It’s been almost two years since I started my journey into game development.
And honestly… it’s been a wild ride.
I’ve followed countless tutorials, built little prototypes, broke them, fixed them, and learned something new every time.
I even helped a few indie devs with UI and art, but deep down, I kept chasing one goal:
to make my own game.
For the longest time, I tried diving deep into Unreal Engine.
Three to four hours every single day, learning, tinkering, breaking things again.
Unreal is powerful… but it’s also massive.
After a while, I could follow tutorials and even solve problems,
but making something from scratch still felt out of reach.
That fear of starting for real just never went away.
Then I kept hearing the same advice from other devs:
“Don’t wait for your dream game. Start small. Just finish something.”
And that stuck with me.
So earlier this year, I opened Godot, just to experiment.
And something clicked.
Within weeks, I was building things I actually understood,
not just following steps, but creating.
I even joined a game jam.
Didn’t finish, but that failure gave me clarity.
Instead of chasing perfection, I told myself:
“Alright. Forget perfect. Let’s just make one small game, and finish it.”
So, over last few months, I’m in the middle of building a little game,
with me and my furry friend, pixel.
I’ve been developing it solo in Godot, almost 3-4 hours every day, learning, polishing, and slowly bringing it to life.
It’s still early, but I’m finally at the point where it feels real.
“It’s still early, but it finally feels real. I’ll share more soon. Until then, stay curious, and give your cats a little extra love. 🐾”
